If you’re just starting out in martial arts, here are a couple of combinations you can practice that revolve largely around what your body would naturally do under pressure.
These combos both start with your strong hand which makes a lot of sense because your dominant side will normally want to fly first.
Combo #1 is a cross followed by a jab. This works well because it flows with your body’s natural tendencies and as you’re throwing that cross it chambers your jab side. This means when you throw this punch second it will deliver with heavier impact than normal.
Combo #2 changes that jab to a hook punch. So if you’re comfortable with hook punches you can change that jab to the hook, and this is great because hook punches pack some serious power!
